It’s been a long time in arriving, but the first grapes were picked at Pookchurch in the last 4 weeks. A modest crop of 29 tonnes, but we are very proud of it, and the vines, which tolerated the extreme weather of June and July, but still managed to produce fruit and establish themselves more strongly for next season.

The weather was stunning, and we had fun harvesting too! How we’ll cope with next year’s (much bigger) crop we’re not sure, but we’ve got time to think about that. All the grapes were delivered to our neighbours Bolney Wine Estate, who will no doubt turn them into fantastic wines. Thank you Bolney!
